This season features contestants competing for the title of "Canada’s First Drag Superstar", a cash prize of $100,000 CAD, a crown and sceptre from Amped Accessories and a year's worth of holiday stays with Hilton.

On January 7, 2021 it was announced that casting for Season 2 was officially open, with deadline of February 8, 2021. On September 14, 2021, the cast was officially announced via social media. The fourth season of Canada's Drag Race was unofficially announced on October 19, 2022, when its casting website opened for auditions. However, the website was deactivated shortly after. On November 1, 2022, it was announced by Canada's Drag Race via social media that casting was officially open, with a deadline of November 21, 2022. The cast of Season 4 was officially announced on October 18, 2023, along with a premiere date of November 16, 2023 for the nine episode season. This season features contestants competing for the title of "Canada’s Next Drag Superstar", a cash prize of $100,000 CAD, a crown and sceptre from Amped Accessories and a supply of beauty products from Shoppers Drug Mart.
